This award is given to the submission which best demonstrates how research can aid decision-making. Clerical Medical relies on its intermediary channel, usually independent financial advisers, to recommend and sell pensions and long-term savings products. Fusing the research results with the client’s financial data, Intrepid Consultants established a clear and unequivocal link between business profitability and the quality of the intermediary relationship. The project equipped Clerical Medical to make far-reaching decisions on how to create, deliver and sustain an appropriate intermediary experience. The judges selected this entry because of the productive way the client was involved by the agency in the process, and the excellent integration between company sales data and research insights.
