Ok - it might not bring you the fame of an appearance in Big Brother, but in the world of creative research, it will definitely put you in the limelight. I want your most innovative ideas, challenging concepts and serious success stories – and I want them in a form that will make my judging panel sit up and take notice.

I invite you to make a submission for one of our prestigious research industry awards. We provide the guidelines, you provide the evidence, and the awards panel does the rest, culminating in your attendance at the awards dinner – the place where anybody who is anybody wants to be seen....and sign autographs....

The closing date for all entries is 5pm Tuesday 30 May 2006.

Michael Thomas [Professor]
Chairman of the Awards Panel

Who can enter?

Agencies, organisations, client/agency partnerships and individuals are equally eligible, but there must be a named prime contact that takes responsibility for the entry and has obtained all relevant permissions.

How to apply

Prepare your submission (see Awards criteria), write your Summary, read the Rules of entry and then complete the Entry Form for that award category.

You may apply for more than one Award, or make several applications for one category.

Your must supply 10 copies of the submission document, plus two signed copies of the Entry Form, for each entry.

To qualify your complete submission package: 10 copies of each submission plus Entry Form (see Submission format) must reach MRS no later than 5pm on Tuesday 30 May 2006.

If you would like an acknowledgement of receipt, please email awards@mrs.org.uk to confirm that it is on its way.

We will invoice you for the entry fee (all categories except Business Research) once your entry has been checked and accepted.

  • The paper or synopsis should ideally be illustrated to aid the judges in their evaluation of your case.

  • The Summary must be bound in after the title page.
  • Papers may be of any length (David Winton and Business Research Awards).
  • Synopses should be no more than 1,500 words – please state your word count.

Judging process

The MRS Awards Panel is chaired by Professor Michael Thomas and comprises leading researchers from agencies, client organisations and academia.

Confidentiality

All submission materials will remain confidential to the Judging Panels and MRS. MRS may subsequently wish to publish case studies based on the materials provided but specific permission to publish will always be sought from the entrants. Where client confidentiality may inhibit the later sharing of outcomes, this should be noted on the Entry Form. This will not necessarily prejudice your entry but we must be aware of this at the time of application.

Entry fee

A fee of £150 (£176.26 inc VAT) per entry applies to submissions for all awards except the Business Research Award where eligible papers will be culled from a variety of sources. You will be invoiced once your entry has been accepted and processed.

Awards presentation

These Awards will be presented at the Research Excellence & Effectiveness Awards Dinner on Monday 6 November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. One free ticket for the event will be allocated for each shortlisted entry.
