Networking and educational opportunities in the north of England are organised on an informal basis through MRS and its regionally-based members and partners.  There is no formal regional or branch structure.

In 2006 MRS also launched NortheRN – a partnership network – with the aim of developing a broad-based programme of learning and networking events across the north of England, involving regional interests beyond MRS and the research community.

Events are normally open to both members and non-members of MRS and are either free or low-cost. Details of meetings are automatically sent to MRS members based in northern England. Non-members, and members based elsewhere who would like to be put on the mailing list should complete the online registration form.
