R-Net: for researchers on the way to the bar

R-Net is all about getting together with like-minded young researchers, and to this end held a lively social in a central London bar in August 2004.

There was a good turnout despite the heat (no wonder the cold beer was flowing so easily!) and we were very pleased to welcome some new faces alongside a few regular R-Netters - including a strong international contingent. The central location made it particularly easy for London-based researchers to drop by after work and everyone seemed to have a good time. Some great suggestions were made for the future of R-Net, including themed events plus R-Net's contribution to the MRS Conference.

Thanks to everyone who came: we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
