MRS Disciplinary Authority

MRS Disciplinary Regulations were last updated in September 2004. At the beginning of 2000-2001 period, the MRS Disciplinary Procedure was reviewed in recognition of new human rights legislation and recommendations from the 1999 report from the government's Better Regulation Task Force. The review focussed on ensuring that a new structure best served MRS members whilst meeting the obligations of self-regulation.

The Disciplinary Authority's role is to conduct tribunals for all cases where members contest the initial disciplinary findings by PSC. In addition to MRS Fellows, the Authority comprises individuals who are independent of both the Society and the market research profession. It is proving to be a robust and fair mechanism to enforce the MRS Code of Conduct in the interests of all participants in the market research process.
