Market Research Standards Board (MRSB)

The MRS Market Research Standards Board (formerly the Professional Standards Committee, PSC) recommends to the MRS Council the adoption of regulations to support the professional standards for market research. These take the form of the MRS Code of Conduct, best practice guidelines, and disciplinary regulations and procedures.

Susan Blackall

Susan is Senior Director for Research International UK. During the course of her career Susan has gained experience across a wide range of market sectors, including packaged goods, retailing, drinks and leisure, financial services and the public sector, and her current involvement on Research International's client business stretches across all these areas.

Ian Brace

Ian is UK Group Research Director for TNS UK. Ian has been a market researcher for over 30 years, during which time he worked for MAS Survey Research, NOP, Esso Petroleum and BJM Research.

Sue Brooker

Sue Brooker heads the Quantitative Research Department at the National Centre for Social Research. She is responsible for around 90 researchers working on surveys in all policy areas.

Sue Burden

Sue has a unique mix of research experience from the perspective of client in Marketing, advertising, client-side Market Research Manager and now as Head of Brand and Ad Research at TNS UK .

Caroline Callahan

Caroline is a Research Director at MORI where she heads up the Legal, Retail and Consumer research areas. She has 23 years of research experience previously working for Gallup and Retail Audits Ltd. She joined MORI in March 1996. Caroline is a qualitative and quantitative researcher, and her experience spans across the commercial and public sectors covering consumer, retail, media, fmcg, leisure, legal, education and social research in both the domestic and international markets.

Sharon Dimoldenberg

Sharon is a Director of GfK NOP Business & Technology. She specialises in qualitative research and focuses on new product development, brand image, customer satisfaction and channel management.

Frances Dobson (nee Hoskin)

Frances has over 20 years of market research experience, spanning both agency and clientside. She started her career at Indal Business Research in 1986, and then moved to Research International Specialist Units. In 1992 she moved to NatWest where she managed the customer satisfaction and mystery shopper programmes. She then returned to the agency side at NOP Financial, where she set up a specialist qualitative unit. In 2003 she joined Capital One as Director of Consumer Insight, to establish an in-house market research department. In January 2007 she moved to the Housing Corporation, where as Research & Information Manager she is responsible for the Corporation's research programme.

Frances holds a BSc in Economics from Bristol University.

Geoff Gosling

Geoff is a Senior Research Director at Synovate.  Born and raised as a qualitative researcher, he has in recent years spent time on the client-side and moved into key client account management.  A passionate exponent of qualitative research, Geoff has extensive experience in many areas, but specialises in communications research, service development, product evaluation, and customer satisfaction.

Geoff has served on MRS Council for the last 4 years and has recently taken over as Chair of MRSB - the Market Research Standards Board.  He is also a regular convenor of MRS training courses. 

 

Peter Mouncey

Following a brief period at The Gas Council, Peter joined the Automobile Association in 1971, where he worked until early 2000, latterly as a member of the senior management team responsible for Group Marketing Services and CRM strategy. Since leaving the AA Peter works as an independent specialist marketing services consultant. Peter is a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University School of Management and Editor in Chief of the MRS journal The International Journal of Market Research.

Oliver Murphy

Oliver is Managing Director of Diagnostics (Social & Market) Research Ltd - a specialist qualitative research company that he set up in 1985. He has extensive experience across many sectors and techniques with an emphasis on strategic studies in areas such as social, food, toiletries, retail, finance and tourism.
Oliver joined the MRSB in September 2005 and is currently Vice Chair of AQR (Association for Qualitative Research).

Nick Palmer

Nick worked for Barclays Bank from 1966 to 2000. After gaining Chartered Institute of Bankers professional qualifications he rapidly pursued an enriching and varied banking career, which included the establishment and management of the first formal market research department in any UK bank. This led to a three year period in the Directors' /Chairman's Office dealing with a variety of special projects, followed by the remainder of his career in senior management in the corporate bank.

Helen Turner

Helen Turner is an independent consultant, working mainly in the Quality and Training areas, including being a Quality assessor. She has over 30 years research experience, working both clientside (Gillette, Spillers, Van den Berghs & Kimberly Clark) & for agencies (Sample Surveys/Synovate). She is a Fellow of the MRS & has been a member of the PSC/Standards Board for many years.

Teresa Williams

Teresa Williams joined the Senior Civil Service in 2007 when she became Head of the Government Social Research Unit at the Treasury.  The Unit supports the Chief Government Social Scientist in providing leadership and support to the 1,000+ members of the Government Social Research service and more generally promoting greater use of analysis in policy making and delivery.

Ann Wolfe

Since 1989 Ann has worked for Yell and is responsible for a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research projects. She is responsible for projects involving both consumers and businesses, including customer satisfaction on all aspects of businesses' dealings with the company, product development and a continuous tracking study on the service offered to businesses by the Yell sales force. Ann also acts as consultant and facilitator for all internal research covering departmental internal customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and communication surveys.
