The Government is considering abolishing the edited electoral roll. The current framework governing access to and the supply of electoral registers has now been in operation for seven years. The Government wishes to consult on the impacts, both positive and negative, that could stem from accepting Recommendation 19 of the Data Sharing Review, to remove the provision allowing the sale of the edited electoral register, and consider whether other options exist.

Seminar: Targeting for multi-channel marketing - 23 November 2009

MRSB response to Code consultation submissions and additional proposals
Following the consultation on proposed revisions to the MRS Code of Conduct, changes have been agreed by the MRS Market Research Standards Board. IJMR Call for Papers - Market Research in Recession
What does economic turmoil mean for the market research industry; what is the impact on methodologies, applications, structure? How will the industry look once the economic cycle starts to turn from down to up? What are the lessons from recessions of the past?
IJMR welcomes submissions under all three categories of content: formal papers, Forum articles and Viewpoints and would particularly welcome submissions that include case studies in order to provide examples to other researchers of how issues have been addressed from a practical perspective. Updated Regulations for Use of Predictive Diallers
Following a consultation in December 2007, Ofcom issued a revised Statement of Policy on the persistent misuse of an electronic communications network or service on 10 September 2008. MRS has revised its Regulations on the Use of Predictive Diallers to match these procedures.
Consultation on standard text for Thank you leaflets
From January 2009, only MRS Company Partners will be permitted to provide MRS IID cards to non-MRS member interviewers.
As part of this policy, MRS Company Partners will also have to use a standard text on Thank you leaflets used in conjunction with MRS IID cards.
MRS is now seeking views on this proposed standard text.
