23 May 2017

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires the appointment of a Data Protection Officer (DPO) for many data intensive businesses. The DPO, who will advise on compliance and act as a contact person for the data protection authority as well as data subjects, is a new requirement for the UK.

Failure to appoint can lead to fines as high as €10,000,000 or 2% of the company’s worldwide turnover, depending on which amount is higher.

Join Julie Corney from the MRS Standards Team to understand whether you need to get DPO Ready? Who should be the DPO in your business? What is their role?

The GDPR comes into force on 25 May 2018 so now is the time to get ready.

The second speaker, Charlotte Vicary will draw on her own experience as a customer immersion specialist, and those of her field recruitment partners, to explores this thorny issue with her own examples of high drop out and low drop out. She’ll be raising questions for us all to debate. This will be an interactive session so come ready to discuss.
