Research Aid

For Charities

Market research is vital for the third sector, with insight needed to help inform strategy, analyse the effectiveness of campaigns and understand donors and volunteers. While many larger charities are already aware of the benefits of market research, smaller organisations that may not have the resources to access it can now do so. Research Aid is intended to help Charities in the NVCO Almanac with up to £10million income per annum.

Research Aid puts charities in touch with MRS Members who wish to offer their services on a pro bono basis. Research Aid will assist charities to prepare a brief to request market research. Not all services provided by suppliers through Research Aid will be free – this will be at the discretion of the supplier and will depend on the scale of the brief.

For MRS Members

Research Aid is run by a volunteer Development Group of MRS Members and has been created to raise awareness of the assistance which is available to charities and to help them benefit from it. The network assists charities in the understanding and use of freely available data and research evidence, and supports them in preparing briefs that MRS Members can respond to.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Development Group, please email ResearchAid@mrs.org.uk. If you would like to register to offer your services to pro bono to charities through the network, please follow the link below. All suppliers involved in Research Aid must be MRS members and conduct research according to the Code of Conduct.
