Photo: Marc BrennerWe have set out this year to develop six new awards which recognise both the bottom-line benefits of good research and the value in elements of the research mix which may have gone unrecognised in the past.

The MRS Research Excellence & Effectiveness Awards seeks to celebrate innovation and best practice across the research profession - which is as much about rewarding your staff, working well with your clients and being an industry advocate as it is about developing leading-edge research tools and delivering academic papers.

By adding these new elements, we feel they provide an even stronger opportunity for researchers to showcase the very best in research practice.

The closing date for entries to these Awards has now passed

Research magazine invited entries in six distinct categories:

Best Agency - open to any market research agency. Emphasis should be placed on the agency's achievements in the twelve months running up to June 2006. This is Research magazine’s top prize of the night. More on this Award, criteria, entry fee and application process.

Best New Agency - new thinking and innovation are essential to keep the research industry fresh and maintain its long-term future. Acknowledging the entrepreneurial spirit, achievement and ambition of smaller agencies, the Best New Agency Award is open to any agency which has been trading for up to 36 months. Best Research Campaign - this award is a joint recognition for clients and their agencies who have developed and delivered a truly outstanding campaign over the twelve months up to June 2006. More on this Award, criteria, entry fee and application process.

Innovative Employer of the Year - the winner of this award will be an agency or client that can demonstrate how innovative thinking and new initiatives have made their organisation a great place to work. More on this Award, criteria, entry fee and application process.

Research Champion of the Year - this special award will be given to the individual (agency, client side or beyond the market research industry) who has made an outstanding contribution to enhancing the reputation of the market research industry in the last 12 months. Research Newcomer of the Year - this award recognises young and new industry talent and is open to those who have been in the industry less than 3 years and/or are under 30. More on this Award, criteria, entry fee and application process.


How to apply

Download the entry and submission forms.

Prepare your submission (see Awards criteria), read the rules of entry, and then complete the entry and submission forms for that Award category.

Email your completed entry and submission forms as Word documents to researchawards@mrs.org.uk with the name of the award in the subject line.

To qualify, your entry must arrive no later than 5pm on Friday 30 June 2006.

Only email applications will be accepted.

We will invoice you for the entry fee (for all Awards except Research Champion of the Year and Research Newcomer of the Year) once your entry has been accepted and processed.


Judging process

The Panel will be chaired by Marc Brenner, Editor of Research, and will include luminaries from the research industry and beyond. Judging will take place in July 2006.


Confidentiality

All submission materials will remain confidential to the Judging Panel.


Entry fee

A fee of £150 (£176.26 inc VAT) per entry applies to submissions for all Awards (except Research Champion of the Year and Research Newcomer of the Year) . You will be invoiced once your entry has been accepted and processed.


Awards presentation

These Awards will be presented at the Research Excellence & Effectiveness Awards Dinner on Monday 6 November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. One free ticket for the event will be allocated for each shortlisted entry.
