'Welcome to the Dream Economy', dazzling new format and venue for Research 2004Date: 30 May 2003 The Market Research Society (MRS) has today announced a bold step forward in the continuing drive to revolutionise its annual Conference - RESEARCH 2004. Entitled 'Welcome to The Dream Economy', next year's event will push the boundaries of what research is all about further than ever before. To support this groundbreaking theme, the Conference will be held at a new location - The Barbican in Central London - on 11 and 12 March, 2004. The two-day event is expected to attract a cross-disciplinary mix of delegates from the marketing community worldwide, including agency and client-side researchers, marketers, advertising planners, PR executives and brand managers. RESEARCH 2004 comes to London For the first time in its history, the Conference will be staged in Central London - in the stunning Concert Hall and Theatre of the Barbican Centre, EC2. By bringing the event to the capital, The MRS expects to attract a more diverse audience than before with advertising agencies, PR agencies, Marketing Directors, and CEOs all having expressed a marked preference for a central venue. To complement the new location, a number of high profile social events
are planned, along with an interactive networking Hub - an open-all-day
social, business, and workshop space that will sit at the heart of the
Conference. Dreams are the new reality Building on the success of the 2003 event, which was widely regarded as a sea change in format and content alike, 'Welcome to the Dream Economy' will examine how market researchers and marketers are in the business of selling aspirations and emotions, not merely products and services. It will consider how research needs to access the consumer unconscious in order to drive and make sense of today's leading edge marketing activity. Through making maximum use of the theatrical facilities and creative possibilities of the Barbican, this will be a Conference format unlike any other. What they are saying Commenting on the fresh approach, Andy Dexter, Chair, RESEARCH 2004, said, "This Conference will showcase the latest practices in the marketing world, with a focus on creative thinking and the exchange of ideas. Clientside researchers will find it a particularly useful and practical event. The Barbican is an excellent venue, and the Central London location broadens its accessibility to the widest possible audience. A combination of leading-edge thinking and commercial opportunity will define RESEARCH 2004 - we are looking to continue a revolution at the heart of the industry." Jennie Beck, Chair, The MRS, added, "The annual Conference of The MRS is the most important event in the market research industry's calendar and we are continually looking for ways to keep it thought-provoking and relevant to today's research and marketing professionals. The feedback from this year's Conference was very positive and the theme and format of RESEARCH 2004 looks set to build on that."
