Market Research Society Calls for Entries in Research Excellence and Effectiveness AwardsDate: 20 May 2004 The Market Research Society (MRS) has today announced the 2004 launch of its major awards scheme - the MRS Research Excellence and Effectiveness Awards. The Awards seek to recognise outstanding achievement in the market and social research profession by rewarding innovation in the creation and implementation of a research project. The development of innovative research techniques, the application of research to aid effective decision-making and the use of research to advance advertising methodology are three of the areas that will be rewarded at the Awards ceremony in October, which will be attended by over 300 guests from government and the broad marketing profession. Professor Michael Thomas, former President of The MRS and Chair of the Awards judging panel, commented, "The MRS Research Excellence and Effectiveness Awards have been designed to encourage new thinking within the market and social research profession and to showcase the ways in which it has contributed to improved research effectiveness. We know that there is a vast amount of innovation in this profession and these Awards aim to demonstrate to market researchers, their clients and the wider public the groundbreaking results that well-conducted research can achieve." The MRS is inviting entries from across the UK in five distinct categories:
The winners will be announced during a ceremony at the Research Excellence and Effectiveness Awards Dinner, which will take place on 26 October 2004 at the Café Royal in London.
