Integration of BMRA services into MRSDate: 8 December 2005 The Councils of MRS and BMRA today jointly announced their unanimous support for proposals to integrate BMRA services into MRS, with effect from April 2006. Talks have been going on over two years, and specific plans developed in the last six months by discussion teams representing the two membership associations. It seeks to deliver not only unification of services but also unity of purpose for the market research sector. It is intended that the proposed integration be put to a vote of the BMRA membership early in 2006. Notes to editors With members in more than 70 countries, MRS is the world’s largest association representing providers and users of market, social, and opinion research, and business intelligence. It has a diverse membership of individual researchers within agencies, independent consultancies, client-side organisations, the public sector and the academic community. The BMRA is the trade association for the British market research industry. It aims to increase professionalism and promote confidence in the market research industry, both in the UK and internationally; as well as representing the professional and commercial interests of its member companies.
