Integration of BMRA services within MRS Company Partner ServiceDate: 22 February 2006 The MRS Council welcomes the announcement by the BMRA that its members have voted in favour of proposals to integrate BMRA services into the MRS Company Partner Service. Commenting on the decision, MRS Chairman, Eamonn Santry, said: “For many years, the market research sector has struggled to speak with a coherent single voice from either a commercial or a professional standpoint. Discussions had been underway for some years to reduce fragmentation of operations and external communication. These discussions were accelerated recently and detailed integration proposals received unanimous support from both BMRA and MRS Councils. I am delighted that BMRA members have chosen to take this strategically important decision. We now have a tremendous opportunity to engage with all our audiences to promote, develop and protect research.” David Barr, Director General of MRS added: “The MRS Company Partner Service has already proved a considerable success while still in its first year and the intention is to extend it to client-side organisations. I am very pleased that the MRS Company Partner Service will provide the best framework for successfully delivering combined BMRA and MRS services.” Notes to editors With members in more than 70 countries, MRS is the world’s largest association representing providers and users of market, social, and opinion research, and business intelligence. It has a diverse membership of individual researchers within agencies, independent consultancies, client-side organisations, the public sector and the academic community.
