Interviewer Quality Control Scheme (IQCS)
The Interviewer Quality Control Scheme (IQCS) is an independent organisation responsible for providing minimum service standards for data collection. Member companies must adhere to the IQCS minimum standards and are subject to an annual independent audit. Market Research Quality Standards Association (MRQSA)
Market Research Quality Standards Association (MRQSA) is an all-industry body which brings together a number of trade and professional bodies, including the MRS. MRQSA was set up to develop minimum standards for market, social and opinion research, data collection and data processing. Originally, these standards evolved into the British Standard, BS 7911. In April 2006, a new international standard, ISO 20252, was issued to replace the British standard.

Since May 2008, companies assessed to MRQSA/BS 7911 have to be re-assessed to ISO 20252. To assist companies, MRQSA Council prepared a short document (PDF 32KB, PDF Help), which has been approved by the assessment bodies, to clarify the issues and specifically in the areas of subcontracting, interviewer ID, validation of qualitative respondents and reporting of methodological details.

MRQSA has also prepared a document to aid companies implementing the international standard ISO 20252.  It is recommended that this is read in connection with the published standard ISO 20252, which can be obtained from BSI.

Marketing and Sales Standards Setting Board (MSSSB)
The Marketing and Sales Standards Setting Board (MSSSB) has produced national Standards in Marketing and Sales, which aim to help the marketing and sales community. MRS is a participant in the MSSSB Steering Group which produced the standards. Further information on MSSSB.

The guidance sets out the key principles which should be upheld in the conduct of social research for government.
