The research profession is home to some astonishing young talent and we want to showcase this at Impact 2020. Following the success of the inaugural &more conference in October, we are delighted to announce that &more members are being invited to take to the stage in March, to present your visions for the future of insight at the sector's leading event!

What is it?

We are hosting a 40-minute lunchtime session to give &more members the platform once again. This year, we invite you to present a PechaKucha style ‘ideas dash’ to showcase your vision of what the next decade of research looks like. This will be hosted as a lunchtime session on Day 2 of Impact 2020 (11 March).

Jennifer Roberton, Managing Director at Respondi and our &more advocate will be chairing the session. Jennifer led the way for the &more conference 2019, and is excited to be working with the presenters on this session at Impact.

Who will be there?
Delegates will include industry leaders and innovators, senior client-side representatives, your peers and fellow &more members – a space to meet influencers and open great dialogue.

What is the Ideas Dash?
A PechaKucha is a storytelling format where a presenter takes the stage to show 20 slides in succession, giving commentary for each slide. Sound fast-paced? Our Ideas Dash is even faster, allowing 12 seconds per slide.

What do we want to hear from you?
This year’s Impact looks to the future, to the next decade of inspiring and stimulating methodology, new insight and fresh vision. We suggest submitting along the following themes:

  • What is the next research bandwagon?
  • Looking back on a decade of research from 2030
  • I’ve seen the future of research: this decade’s big idea
  • What the forward-facing future looks like to you

Will there be a winner?
Yes! This session will be interactive, with delegates having access to our voting software to select the best ‘dash’ of the day. The winner will have the opportunity to write an article about their vision of the future for Research Live, and of course take home the Ideas Dash Award 2020.

What do we need from you next?
Please send us a 60 second video OR a 200 word synopsis enlightening us on your vision of the future to showcase at Impact 2020 – we’re not looking for anything complicated; just who you are, your sense of presentation style, your idea. You can send this to us via your company SFTP or www.wetransfer.com (this became GDPR compliant in 2019). If you are sending a synopsis, you can submit by responding to this email.

Please send these to conference@mrs.org.uk by Friday 17 January.

MRS will work with Jennifer Roberton and the &more Leadership Team to shortlist your entries to 5 of the best for our very first ideas dash.

To top it all off…
This session will be free for all &more members to attend, and you will be invited to stay until Day 2 closes – the prestigious closing keynote on Day 2 is a favourite for many. Past keynotes have included names such as Ian Hislop, Will Self, Caitlin Moran, Bill Bryson, Victoria Coren Mitchell and Sebastian Faulks to name but a few – and this year’s closing keynote will not disappoint.

The deadline is Friday 17 January to submit your entry. Don’t miss your chance to take the stage – send us your idea!

Speak soon,

&more team
