Big Brother, big data – how research can make you famous

Big Brother, big data – how research can make you famous

In a nutshell

This event has taken place.

Christian Howes, TV presenter and digital data expert

6-8.30pm, 23 March @ Twitter's offices in London

Christian Howes is a rare breed. He is both a television presenter and a data analyst. And he rose to fame in the most unexpected way.

The digital expert was ‘spotted’ when observing the social media habits of viewers of the reality TV show Big Brother. Speaking about his findings on Twitter and Facebook, he suddenly landed himself a weekly spot on BB’s Bit on the Side.

Attend the &more launch event to hear how Christian presented his findings to millions of viewers who were chattering about the show but had no idea how their conversations were impacting social media. From Big Brother his data expertise saw him feature on BBC1’s National Lottery , The Hub for This Morning and BT Sport.

Christian’s work also has a serious side. He used insights from social media data to accurately predict Brexit and Trump’s successes. He is passionate about new data capture methods though rather less enthusiastic about traditional research...

Come to Twitter's eclectic offices in London the 23 March to hear Christian's advice on to make data analysis work – and all about a new series that merges modern data with traditional genres that Christian is bringing to air.

See Christian talk about Big Brother and the National Lottery
