&more Leadership Team – Call for applications

Blaze a trail with &more in 2021.

&more members are constantly achieving great things; conference speaking, webinar speaking, award-winning, article-writing, sustainability-championing… it takes more than a pandemic to stop you.

Which is why we need you: your talent, your insight and your innovative ideas for the network.

We now have places available on our &more Leadership Team and are looking for new members to lead the network to fantastic things in 2021.

Along with our amazing existing Leadership Team members, you will be coming up with great ideas on how &more can support, inspire and champion young researchers.

That could involve suggesting topics for events, helping to source inspiring speakers and/or spreading the word on &more to friends and colleagues. Are you a social media connoisseur? Do you know exactly what your peers need from a network? Are you full of suggestions, enthusiasm and keen to shape the future of research? If the answer is yes to any of those, we need you!

In terms of time commitment, the team meets every couple of months (virtually) to discuss upcoming plans and events. You would also need to be available to attend (again, virtually) &more events, which would be every one to two months. The time commitment isn’t huge, but the benefits are: as part of the Leadership Team, you will be an ambassador within the industry, receive free attendance at &more events and work with senior industry figures to help shape MRS’ approach to the future of research.

How to apply?

Via email, or maybe even a short video introduction, we don’t mind! But we do need to know:

• An introduction to yourself – where do you work and what are your hobbies and interests?
• We are in the midst of a pandemic… what is one thing that &More can do to further help and support young researchers?
• Do you have any interest or past experiences in organising events or managing social media? If so, what is that?
