New Year, New Us

It has been a year since we launched the MRS Data Analytics Council and that feels like the right time to pause, take stock on what we’ve achieved and reflect on our ambitions for 2024.

We achieved a lot in 2023!

We launched ourselves with 26 brilliant members.

We developed a new home, built new relationships with fascinating people and organisations, and co delivered incredible events with partners like the Social Intelligence Lab.

We also began to deliver our own content such as the article The New Market Researcher and the MRS Analytics Spotlight with Michael Martin which has given us an opportunity to really put our opinions out there (we’ve got a lot!).

As we ended the year we also spent some time reflecting about our group and our purpose, and those conversations have led us to starting 2024 with a few changes.

We are clear that the purpose of this group remains to empower organisations and individuals by unlocking the potential of advanced analytics.

But with that in mind defining ourselves as the Data Analytics Council feels a bit limiting. Like all good researchers, we’re as focused on the insight as we are the methodology.

That’s why we’re starting the year with a (slight) rebrand as the MRS Advanced Insights and Analytics Council. Data Analytics is still a core part of who we are and what we will be talking about, but we’ll also be diving into any advanced techniques that are at the forefront of our industry whether it's Qualitative, Quantitative, ML, AI or anything else.

It’s a small but important change that makes us even more excited for the year ahead. We can’t wait to show you all the great work we’re planning!
