BIS's Data Strategy Board

It's great to see YouGov CEO Stephan Shakespeare appointed as chair of BIS's Data Strategy Board. I am fully supportive of his view that 'Greater transparency can lead to enhanced collaboration and unleash creativity.'

Data can be a driver of growth and innovation, both within the public and private sector, and it’s encouraging to see this important role being filled by someone with a research background.

MRS has long held the role as regulator in the research sector, and I have spoken before about how the society is perfectly placed to lead the charge on a more ethical use of data in the UK and hopefully worldwide.

I encourage anyone to engage with Stephan through his blog.
