Charity Golf Day for MRBA

Anyone who is reasonably proficient (with or without a handicap) will be welcome, but numbers are limited to 40 golfers – so book ASAP if you’re interested. The cost is only £75, which includes your green fees, tea/coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, a hot lunch and sandwiches with the prize giving. Alternative menus are available for vegetarians and those with other food requirements. If you just fancy a walk round the countryside with lunch and tea, it is yours for £25.

The Competitions

As usual, the morning 18 holes are a Stableford competition, giving equal opportunity to all standards of play, played in groups of three or four. The afternoon is an 18 hole Greensomes competition; prizes include nearest the pin and longest drive.

The Charity

The beneficiary is The Market Research Benevolent Association (MRBA) – the market research sector’s independent, registered charity providing financial assistance to people who work (or who have worked) in Market Research. Over the years the charity has helped hundreds of people and their families, who experienced financial hardship as a result of illness, injury, bereavement or other personal problem. This year the need is greater than ever as a result of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Venue

Chobham Golf Club is a traditional private members club offering the combined benefits of a superbly designed course, excellent clubhouse facilities and experienced management in a stunningly beautiful location. They have full facilities for lady golfers. The 18 hole, par 69 course was designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark. The course has been designed and built to international championship standards, challenging the skills of low and high handicap players alike. Quietly situated on the Chobham Road between Knaphill and the picturesque village of Chobham, just a few minutes drive from Woking, Guildford, Farnborough.

Buggies

Buggies are in short supply at Chobham. They will be block booked and available for hire through Sample Answers. Allocation will be determined by demand and a small premium will be charged in favour of the MRBA.
