Content and Assessment

The Certificate in Market & Social Research comprises the following 3 units:

  • Unit 1: Introduction to Market Research
  • Unit 2: Designing a research project: the tools of Market Research
  • Unit 3: Completing a research project

The assessment of all three units is integrated into a 1 hour online examination, containing 40 multiple-choice questions.

How long will it take?

Completion of the Certificate is estimated to require 45-60 hours of study.

On completion of the online course MRS Market Research - An Introduction, candidates can elect to take the online, accredited, examination. Candidates can choose to take the exam at either the offices of MRS or their own work location. To take the exam candidates will need to register direct with MRS.

The cost of the online course is £245 plus VAT.

The cost of exam registration is £115 plus VAT.

Process and Conditions: 

  • Submit booking form with payment to MRS
  • MRS confirms booking and will process the payment
  • Receipt of payment sent
  • MRS issues you with a personal access key
  • You have 60 days from when the access key is issued to log onto the course for the first time. At this stage you will be asked to insert your personal access key. If you fail to log on within 60 days, you will need to re-register/re-pay
  • After the first log in, you have 120 days in which to complete the course. Extensions will not be issued
  • Refunds will not be available, once the personal access key has been issued
  • On completion of the online training course, please contact MRS with the date that you wish to take the 1 hour online exam (we need a minimum of 24 hours’ notice)
Entry criteria

There are no minimum entry requirements for the MRS Certificate in Market and Social Research.
