The MRS Certificate in Market & Social Research (MRS Certificate) is designed to recognise the range of knowledge and understanding required to:

  • understand the role of market and social research in decision making
  • understand the basic principles and processes which underpin effective market research
  • know how to choose the most appropriate method or tool for a project
  • understand the value of research information to the business or organisation.

Studying for this qualification will enable you to gain vital knowledge of market and social research that is vital to help businesses and public sector organisations make viable and appropriate decisions.

All successful candidates are awarded the MRS Certificate in Market & Social Research, providing recognition of the individual’s knowledge and understating of the basic principles and processes which underpin effective market and social Research.

The MRS Certificate requires candidates to undertake a training programme e.g. Foundation Course in Market Research and then successful pass an online multiple-choice examination.

The Certificate in Market & Social Research is comprised of the following 3 units:

  • Unit 1: Introduction to Market Research
  • Unit 2: Designing a research project: the tools of Market Research
  • Unit 3: Completing a research project

The assessment of all three units is integrated into a 1 hour online examination, containing 40 multiple-choice questions.

Candidates can choose to take the exam at either the offices of MRS or their own work location. To take the exam candidates are required to register with MRS.

Process and Conditions: 

  • Submit booking form with payment to MRS
  • MRS confirms booking and will process the payment
  • Receipt of payment sent
  • MRS issues you with a personal access key
  • You have 14 days from when the access key is issued to log onto the course for the first time. At this stage you will be asked to insert your personal access key. If you fail to log on within 14 days, you will need to re-register/re-pay
  • After the first log in, you have 120 days in which to complete the course. Extensions will not be issued
  • Refunds will not be available, once the personal access key has been issued
Entry criteria

There are no minimum entry requirements for the MRS Certificate in Market and Social Research.
