The Green Alliance We recently carried out research for charity ‘The Green Alliance’. The Green Alliance presented their findings to Parliament earlier this year.
“We have prepared a report – ‘Work in Progress’ – getting young people ready for jobs in the 2030s’ which we presented to Parliament, and are pleased to say that the young people taking part in the research are featured – the in-school workshops run by Family Kids & Youth really helped us to learn what young people’s thoughts are about their current needs and future employment.” Steve Coulter, Head of Economy, The Green Alliance
IKEA
We have run the IKEA Children’s Advisory Board since 2017 – giving IKEA regular feedback on what children around the world think about IKEA and what they would like to see. We have also written several international Play Reports for IKEA. We presented recent findings at the MRS ‘Generation A-Z Conference, 2026’
Some of you may know that (IKEA) has conducted the Play Report that Barbie and her team was very much involved in and which we are really, really happy with… It is the largest research study that has been conducted in the world on children and play and parenting; 11,000 interviews were carried out in 25 countries: 8,000 with parents and 3,000 with children. The purpose for IKEA was to increase awareness and start meaningful discussions about play, and to encourage parents to play with their children. Maria Elander – (former) Head of IKEA Children’s School
OMD Worldwide
Our work for OMD Worldwide was carried out at the end of 2022/early 2023. Findings from the report can be read here.
“We worked with Barbie and her team on a project at the end of 2022. FK&Y ran multiple focus groups with young people around the country of age groups between 11 and 21. This included groups with ‘SEND’ children at specialist schools, and under-privileged socio-economic groups. Not only are FKY extremely ‘qualified’ to run this sort of work, they conducted themselves with sensitivity and a clear aptitude for active
listening. The outputs of the work they did for us have been shared hundreds of times across Omnicom Media Group and OMD’s client base, and we wouldn’t hesitate to come to them again in the future.” Laura Rowe, Managing Partner, Marketing Intelligence & Inclusion, OMD
MOPAC
At the beginning of lockdown, FK&Y began work with MOPAC talking to young people, parents and carers about their experience of and interaction with the Police. Because of lockdown over half the sessions had to be re-arranged online but were very successful, and we presented the result through Microsoft Teams. We were asked to repeat the session for a wider audience in June.
Feedback from our client included:
I’ve received some really positive feedback from [director] on the reports that you sent over – she’s said they’re very clearly laid out and engaging, and that there will be some new insights there that will really help them. She also said more generally that she thinks your work is excellent. I’d also echo this – it’s been really great working on this project with you, and it’s been wonderful to see how well the research has delivered (even against such a challenging situation)!
We also put together an infographics for MOPAC:
Thank you for sending the one-pager over, I think this looks really fab!
And finally our client wrote:
Thank you again to you and the team for all the great work on this project – I’ve very much enjoyed working with you all, and hope to work with you again in the near future. Nicole Ramshaw, Research Officer, MOPAC
