One year on from the first Inclusion Pledge CEO panel discussion chaired by Vanella Jackson, she has invited some of them back - along with a couple of new faces - to find out what has been achieved since. Here she outlines what she’s hoping they’ll discuss.

At last year’s panel, which you can watch here, we identified that everyone was committed to making our industry more open and inclusive, increasing and championing all kinds diversity. There was a general agreement that as a sector we not only had an opportunity to lead the way, but that it was vital given our role is to truly represent people’s opinions to government, organisations and companies.

Beyond a clear commitment, we heard people talk about the practical things they were already doing, in hiring, in educating and in culture. It was impressive. However, everyone accepted that we are only at the beginning of the journey and a lot more needed to be done.

The MRS Inclusion Pledge, which many have signed, helps keep us true to our words. However, what has been achieved in the last year? Have we managed to keep up the momentum and drive tangible change? Where do CEOs see themselves and their organisations now? How is their inclusion journey progressing? What successes can they feedback that others can learn from? What have been the challenges and difficulties? What needs to happen next? What can we expect to see one year from now?

On 3 March we will hear from six research business leaders responsible for guiding their organisations through change, helping champion and create a more inclusive sector that we can all gain from and be proud of.
