MRS is proud to launch It’s Good to Talk; a new initiative offering a safe, informal space for MRS Members to share how they tackle and feel about issues that affect so many of us. These aren’t webinars. There’ll be no speeches or panels. Just a chance to talk.

Our Good to Talk sessions are facilitated by members of the MRS Mentor cohort, including those with lived experience of the topics. We know there are plenty of online resources and LinkedIn threads, but we believe in the power of real-time, personal conversation to support each other in new and meaningful ways.

About the First Session:

Topic: Balancing Work with Caring Responsibilities
Whether you're caring for children, grandchildren, elderly relatives, pets, or others, this session is for you.

Bring your sandwich, a cuppa, and join us for a relaxed lunchtime chat. This is a welcoming space to:

  • Listen to others’ experiences
  • Share your own stories – the good, the tough, and the in-between
  • Celebrate moments of exceptional support
  • Reflect on where support was missing
  • Exchange practical advice and encouragement

Facilitated by Chloe Fowler, FMRS and Judith Rose, FMRS, this session is about talking, not solutionising. It’s a space to connect with others going through or have gone through similar experiences.

What You Need to Know
  • Small group format (10 people) to keep it personal
  • Not recorded – what’s shared stays in the room
  • Confidentiality expected from all attendees
  • No prep needed – just sign up, show up, and share your perspective

What’s Next?

If this pilot goes well, we’ll explore future sessions on topics such as:

  • Hidden disabilities
  • Agism at work
  • Bereavement
  • Pregnancy loss and infertility – managing conversations in the workplace
  • Personal branding – Do I really need one?
