This highly practical workshop will enable researchers with experience of creating presentations to refine their skills in the areas of storytelling and communicating insight.

How many times has it been said that clients and stakeholders want insight and solutions rather than mere data and a recitation of the methodology? The presentation of the findings is normally the culmination of the research project and your opportunity to shine. For agencies, it is also the best launch-pad for pitching for further work. It is therefore critical that your audience are shown the wood for the trees, that they clearly understand the key ‘story’ behind the data and that they are guided towards making the right business decisions. It is also important that the story is told with the utmost visual impact.

Objective

This course enables you to:

  • Create presentations for maximum engagement, impact and insight.
  • Define the essence of an effective, client-focused presentation
  • Analyse the client’s world and business in order to place the research within the wider context
Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, delegates should be able to:

  • Identify the key messages and the 'story’ that lies behind the data
  • Differentiate between well- and badly-designed presentations
  • Appreciate the importance of the personal and emotional elements of presentations
Who will benefit?

This course will benefit anyone, however senior, who has to create client presentations, particularly of quantitative research findings, and who would like to improve their quality. The workshop assumes a reasonable knowledge of PowerPoint.
