Voice Tech Trends In US, UK And Germany

With the increased adoption of voice technology, smart speakers and digital assistants, there’s no denying that Alexa, Siri and Google Home are changing consumer behavior. However, to what extent? Are consumers simply curious about these devices? Are their purchase decisions being guided by AI?  Will purchase trials shift to new shopping habits?

As decision behavior experts, we set out to examine these questions by conducting research on consumer attitudes and adoption of voice technology in the U.S., U.K. and Germany (the markets the technology manufacturers have focused on). This infographic previews some of the research highlights.

Pablo J Pérez | Google

"SKIM has proven to provide the most innovative proposal in a recent, very ambitious, RFP. They are super-strong on the fundamentals of research, which is becoming a differentiation factor these days. On top of that, they proposed the coolest mix of research pieces, both with their own tools but also with external partnerships. This showed how well connected and active they are in the industry. During the whole process, they truly understood our needs and worked really hard as a team to deliver the best research design. We are really impressed and eager to work with them”

Jennifer Whyte & Diane Freeman | Unilever

“We recently used SKIM for a portfolio optimisation study in 2 markets, for global / local teams and 3 global brands - our current portfolio and innovations were included too. The methodology was one that we were mostly new to.

SKIM were very involved and their skills, attention to detail (and patience!) were exemplary. The analysis was highly complex but SKIM produced a very clear, concise and actionable report with quantifiable commercial outcomes. The simulator developed by SKIM allowed us to run portfolio scenarios predicting the impact on our business, on robust consumer choice data and rigorous analysis”

Tara Colalillo | Mars Petcare

“We were seeing a really steep growth for other CPG categories within the online space, but pet care was not increasing at the same rate. So we wanted to understand why. SKIM presented the customer journey mapping idea to us…this project was presented to us as a blended methodology, and that’s really the reason why we chose to work with SKIM on this project.”

Benoit Gouhier | Danone ELN

“It is always a great pleasure working with SKIM. They deliver clear and actionable insights tackling complex challenges with creativity and thoroughness, and all of this with enthusiasm and passion!”

Allen Bevans | Google Play

“SKIM's segmentation helped us truly understand the drivers and differences among these groups, so that we can enhance and differentiate our strategy accordingly. This study was very complex…& seemed to provide exactly the precision and flexibility we needed. They delivered results in a way that was easy to understand and socialize throughout the organization.”
