The Market Research Society (MRS) has appointed Georgina White as a new member of its Main Board from 1st April.

Georgina is currently director of customer experience & insight at health and wellbeing store, Holland & Barrett.  She joins with over 15 years of experience in client-side research and insight across a variety of industries, including retail, telecommunications, energy and financial services.

As chair of MRS’ Senior Client Council and a judge for the MRS Awards, Georgina is a well-established member of the organisation and an accomplished figure in the sector. She joins the Main Board as Zoë Ruffels and Nick North complete their terms as members at the end of March after six years in the role.

The new Main Board will also mark the start of James Endersby’s term as MRS chair, following his appointment as chair designate last year.  He will step into the role in April, taking the reins from outgoing chair Sinead Jefferies.

James has led Opinium as its chief executive since 2010 and is an MRS Fellow.  He takes the helm with extensive knowledge of both client and agency-side research, and experience of advocating for the research, insight and data sector and its people.

Jane Frost, MRS chief executive, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Georgina and James, two highly valued and influential members of the research community, to their new roles.  I’d also like to thank Zoë and Nick for their efforts during their time on the MRS Main Board, and to Sinead for her contributions, initially as a Main Board member and as MRS chair over the past two years.

“2024 is set to be a pivotal year, from the general elections on the horizon, to the rapid development of generative AI.  Against this backdrop, MRS’ work is especially important in promoting the highest standards throughout the sector and underlining the value of good research, insight and data for decision makers – and our Main Board will be working hard this year to do just that.”

James Endersby, chief executive of Opinium and incoming chair of the MRS Main Board, said: “Georgina brings a wealth of experience in research and insights, and will make a fantastic addition to the board.  I’m really looking forward to working with her and, of course, to starting my term as chair.  There’s no better time than this to be amping up our contributions to our thriving sector.”
