Ensuring all groups of consumers can represent themselves is important in supporting effective decision-making. There are growing expectations that researchers ensure insights represents the voices of diverse populations, and that research methods are designed to engage all groups. For researchers this means thinking how samples are representative of national populations as well as the ways in which research techniques are both accessible and appropriate.
Over the last 18 months the International Journal of Market Research has published many articles from leading industry and academic researchers exploring approaches to developing more inclusive forms of research. This IJMR Forum provides practical takeaways based on the latest research in areas such as researching vulnerable and marginalised consumers, gender classification in research designs and the inclusion of people with disabilities in research. Alongside this will be opportunity for discussion and debate to share ideas, challenges and best practice.
This IJMR Forum will be Chaired by Associate Editor of IJMR, Dr. Alena Kostyk (University of Glasgow) with the following speakers:
6.00pm – Arrival/refreshments
6.30pm – Presentations
7.30pm – Drinks and networking
8.30pm – Close
