Creating visual data pieces, tailor-made to each delegate.

This is partly due to us living in the most information-loaded era in history and partly due to high client and consumer demand.

In our day-to-day lives as researchers, we often don’t have opportunities to be creative or even artistic with the data we work with; often simply asked to develop generic or branded PowerPoint decks and reports. However, the movement towards visuals and ‘data storytelling’ means this workshop is more relevant than ever before and shows how to think creatively about data and even be playful with data findings and communications through high-spec visuals.

This 1-day workshop is an holistic one-stop shop; learn about how to mine and curate data and find the message or find the message in existing data and insights and use this information to develop your infographic in the hands-on Prezi and Photoshop training. Through Prezi and Photoshop training, each delegate will take away practical knowledge and a visual piece that can be shared and re-used.

This full day workshop focuses on creating visual data pieces tailor-made to each delegate, each delegate providing their own data to work from and leaving with their own self-made digital infographic relevant to a topic of their choice or to their work.

This workshop promises a playful day of learning-by-doing with a good mix of hands-on training, lecture style examples and theory and solo and group working. While briefly casting a lens on computer-generated Data Visualisations, this workshop will focus on digital Infographics and how to make them accessible, shareable and scalable.

Betty Adamou is the CEO & Founder of Research Through Gaming Ltd. She is the inventor of ResearchGames™, a ResearchGame Designer and regular conference speaker, keynote and writer on online games, engagement and gamification.

As well as making games for research, Betty also provides University guest lectures, workshops and seminars on how to design game-based online research. 

Heralded as the pioneer for game-based research, she has also been named 1 of 7 women shaping the future of market research and has won multiple awards for her work, including awards for Research Through Gaming as one of the top 50 most innovative companies of the Market Research industry. 

While designing games at RTG, Betty has taken up further education through a PhD at the University of Winchester, studying the effects of game-based online research on young adults.
Paul McGhie is a Creative Director of marketing business Leading Thought (based in London but working globally). My work in this area is focused on collaborating with my clients to bring business ideas to life through compelling visual solutions and messaging. I have produced marketing materials spanning, but not limited to, print advertising, infographics, social media campaigns, video and more.
