15 May 2017

2016- 2017 has been exceptionally busy for MRS, not only with our 70th anniversary, but with preparing policies and support packages for new data regulations (and indeed a new ICO), the implications of Brexit, nuisance calling initiatives to be navigated and much more. Not only have our events and awards had a record-breaking year, but we have been able to launch a new network in Northern Ireland, complete our mentoring pilot, relaunch Research Live and move forward discussions on recruiter standards.

Please come and ask the MRS team about any of this, or indeed anything else you would like to discuss. In particular, we will cover:

GDPR and data protection: with the new General Data Protection Regulation scheduled to be in force by May 2018, Dr Michelle Goddard will share current state of play and implementation, and inform what you and your organisation has to do to be ready.

The Business of Evidence 2016: this research sector report prepared by PwC for MRS not only looks at sector economics but also considers the skills that researchers will need in order to be fit for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

New services for young researchers: our current network for young researchers attracts 1,000 professionals. As the sector changes it is clear new skills and services are required to help young talent reach their potential and to support companies in retaining and developing the best. We share our plans for this important group.

We can also update you on the new Mentoring Programme which we previewed last year and the latest Delphi Group research report on the Insight Driven Organisation released last November.
