An IJMR Lecture
Using data and argument from the Great British Class Survey, Mike Savage will show how old conceptions of upper, middle and working class no longer readily apply. Drawing on the approach of Pierre Bourdieu, he will show how recognising the role of economic, cultural and social capital presents a more complex picture of class, though with clear evidence that a small elite is pulling away at the top of British Society.
