The Government’s commitment to boost house building to achieve 300,000 new homes a year, will bring with it significant challenges for public service providers.

As populations change and evolve, the nature of the services they require changes with them. Focussing on education, schools and school places, this presentation explores the role research plays in the policy debate between building new homes and delivering the infrastructure communities so desperately need. From forecasting the demand for primary school places, we look at the implications new household studies have for understanding; transport and travel, community building use and the needs of our aging population.
