The MRS Awards 2022 will launch on Tuesday 3 May with two new categories: Sustainability Research and Applications & Impact of Data.

“These new categories reflect areas of huge importance for the sector and are a really exciting development,” says Jane Frost CBE, CEO of MRS. “Though perhaps not as exciting as the prospect of celebrating the winners in person again after two years of virtual events. I have enjoyed my time in front of the camera, but I’m ready to get back on stage at the MRS Awards in December!”

Steve Phillips, Chair of the MRS Sustainability Council and CEO of Zappi, who are sponsoring the new Sustainability Research Award, says: “We are delighted to be a sponsor this year. We firmly believe that business has an important role in society and the consumer insights industry has to play its part. We want to see companies step up and get recognised for doing good.”

These new categories follow the announcement of the Best Sustainable Operations Award, the winner of which will be presented at the Oppies party in September, and the search for Diversity, Inclusion & Equality Changemaker of the Year, who will be revealed at the Excellence Awards lunch in June.

“We’re not out of the Covid woods yet,” continues Jane, “but the situation is very different from last year and, as long as it is safe to do so, we intend to hold all three of our awards events in 2022. I look forward to raising a long-overdue glass with many of you there.”
