Engage your students and bring Research to life with our Graduate Roadshow

The Market Research Society and the Association for Qualitative Research have a team of enthusiastic research practitioners that are passionate about raising the profile of research and how it underpins practically every business decision ever made.

The team of young professionals have been visiting universities across the country, providing one hour sessions about the various products, brands and big named clients they have worked with in the first few years of their new careers.

They illustrate how they have been involved at the first point of inception of a concept, through it becoming reality and how their involvement played such a major part. They explain how they have influenced the strategy and communications of commercial and social establishments.

Meet the team

The team have visited around 30 universities so far including Cambridge, Strathclyde, Hertford, Durham, Leeds, Westminster and Brunel and have received fantastic feedback.

"The Market Research Society’s presentations to students at the University of Birmingham have provided invaluable insights into the range of career options available to students who are interested in the sector. MRS have attended the university on several occasions during recent years, targeting Human Geography and Psychology students in particular, due to the excellent range of skills they develop within their disciplines – perhaps most obviously, data analysis techniques. Most recently, Trish, Ken, Alex and Victoria provided overviews of the activities undertaken by quantitative market researchers and qualitative market researchers, explaining different routes into the industry for all students (regardless of discipline) and identified types of experience and activities students might engage with whilst at university, to optimise their chances of success when applying. We are extremely grateful for their assistance and look forward to welcoming them back to the Birmingham in the future!"

Jim Reali, University of Birmingham

"It was a most enlightening session that really brought working in marketing research to life for undergraduates who have no or limited knowledge of the reality of such a challenging and varied role. The examples used were contemporary and very engaging. I would thoroughly recommend attending one of these sessions to all marketing undergraduates and their lecturers."

Dr Jane Hudson, University of Plymouth

"I just wanted to say a big thank you for getting in touch about the Road show. It was fantastic, the students really loved it and it taught them so much.
The three speakers that came, Ken Parker, Kieran Griffiths and Joe Robert-Walker, were fantastic speakers and really got the students interested in Marketing research.
I am really looking forward to having them come back next year as this is a brilliant opportunity for the students."

Treasa Kearney, University of Liverpool Management School
